List of Psychic Abilities

There are many psychic abilities and everyone is unique.

The following list is a list of psychic abilities and some more uncommonly know psychic abilities in my opinion:

Clairvoyance: Clear seeing, is about seeing visions and spirits, it also includes seeing auras and angels.

Clairaudience: Clear hearing, is about hearing voices, it also includes hearing music and sound.

Clairsentience: Clear feeling, is not just feeling a presence, it also includes feeling energy and feelings.

Claircognizance: Inner knowing, is not just about intuition, it also includes emotions and instincts.

Empathic: Taking on someone else’s feelings and emotions. Being an empath can be the hardest ability to manage.

Automatic Writing: Sometimes done in a trance, or a psychic state. You can also be aware, but the message is not from the writers mind.

Channeling: Is sepreate intelligence and uses the body/mind to communicate the message.

Medium: Someone who connects with spirit and communicates  with them, this can include guiding entities such as angels.

Remote Viewing: Seeking impressions of a distant or unseen target.

Telepathy: Distant feeling, using extra sensory perception for communication between minds over a distance or barrier.

Dealing with Negative Energy

Dealing with negative energies can be a difficult process, in this information sheet I will be talking about:

  • Different types of Negative energies
  • Psychic Attack
  • Spirit Attachments
  • Protecting and Preventing negative energies
  • Clearing/cleansing negative energies

Different types of negative energies:

What I’m talking about is where the energy originated from. This can be hard to determine where it comes from, but not impossible. You may feel it in a room; it may be person or spirit. This is not as important, the important thing is to deal with it or protect/prevent you from experiencing such energies.

Psychic Attack:

Psychic attack is where negative energies are pushed into another’s energetic bodies eg aura. Psychic attack can be from the living or those who have passed. This is where they feed off your energy and form a type of attachment. You will feel drained or being drained, they may be dumping all their emotions on to you, that of what they can’t deal with. You may feel heavy or heavier than you have in the past, these all can be symptoms. There are more symptoms than that, but thought I would keep it small, as this is quite a broad subject but an important one at that.

Spirit Attachments:

Spirit can and will form attachments, not all spirit will. But some will try to use your energy, drain it, interfere with it etc. This can be stressful and tiring and shouldn’t be allowed. This can impact your life and have physical effects on your body, in turn it will weaken your aura and it will become easier to drain or interfere with your energy. You must take action once you first notice any negative energies, psychic attack or spirit attachment.

There are many ways to prevent and protect you from such energies listed above. For this reason I will list some methods you can try to, that I have used myself. You must feel comfortable in using the method or methods you choose and feel that it’s working for you, everyone is different and therefore can try different methods until they find one that will suit you.


Preventing these energies can be easy but not always, it takes dedication and persistence. One easy way to stop these energies is to use a “white sage” smudge stick or incense stick; these can be purchased at most new age shops. All you do is light the end until smoking and blow the end out. Move the smudge stick through the building, house or place required. Move the stick everywhere and don’t miss any area, get right in the corners. Corners are really important. The corners are where the negative energy holds it’s self. While doing it you can say a prayer or ask that all negative energy be taken away with the smoke. When finished dab the smoking end into a heat proof plate or dirt, this will stop it from continuing to burn. You may want to have your windows open when doing so, because the smoke can be quite strong for some people.

Also using protection around yourself when around these negative energies can stop you from picking up these energies. The exercise I am about to give you won’t take long to do. Once you have been doing it for about a month or more it will get easier, as everything gets easier with practice.

Another technique is the white light method. Find somewhere in the house a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Sit on a chair or the side of the bed or something similar. Close your eyes and imagine roots growing from your feet that go into the ground, growing deeper and deeper. Then imagine a light coming from above your head and slowly travelling down your body, through each of the seven chakras, until it reaches your feet. Then make that light go into the ground and travel down the buried roots. Imagine any negative energy from your body travelling down your body into the roots in the ground and coming out the ends, and releasing them to the ground. Then imagine positive energy, and thought travelling up toward your head until it reaches just above your head. Making sure not to add any negative energies or thoughts. Once done make sure you close or put protection in place on each chakra. Then slowly become more and more aware of what’s around you, and then slowly open your eyes and take some deep breaths.


The “white sage” can be used to cleanse and clear negative energy. Refer to above direction for using white sage, for cleansing. Cleansing’s can be done on objects, persons, rooms etc.

Boundaries with Spirit

Boundaries are not separation, its understanding.

If you’re not good with saying NO, then you will have to start learning. Spirit doesn’t take a break they don’t need to sleep, to eat, to rest or have a break. Therefore when working with spirit you need to set boundaries and let spirit know what is and isn’t acceptable. No one can make a list of things that you don’t accept for yourself, you have to make your own. There are some things you should factor in when making this list. Like when it’s OK to communicate, be around you, how they contact you or how spirit can get your attention.

The following list is a guide in what you may need to add or factor in when making the rules for spirit. For you to set the boundaries and have the space you need:

  1. No negative entities and/or energies etc
  2. No communication during the time you sleep
  3. Make a time for spirit to communicate (this should be around the same time every day)
  4. Say NO when you have a feeling or spirit is trying to tell you something. Let them know when your time for communication is.
  5. Sleep is important and you must set boundaries especially for this area. Waking up early in the morning has to stop.
How to Set the Boundaries with Spirit:
All you have to do to set the boundaries is say them out aloud or in your head or write them down etc. I prefer to say them out aloud or write them down, you can add to your boundaries later if something becomes a problem or circumstances change. So don’t worry if you can’t think of every circumstance or forget to add something, to your boundaries. The most important thing is to believe that this will work, and that it will be taken seriously. You must show confidence and persistence. At the beginning it may not be easy, but stick with it and don’t give up. When you have succeeded it will be worth it. You will get the odd few spirits try to bend the rules from time to time, just remind them that this isn’t acceptable, and they must stop. Be firm if you need to.

Dealing with Psychic Insight

This post is about people who have just discovered or are just starting in exploring their psychic abilities. I use the term psychic which covers all abilities, including mediumship. Some times when we just start out it can be so much and so hard to deal with, it’s different for everyone. Some may deal with it better than others it just depends on how you look at it and what type of psychic abilities you have. When I was first starting out I didn’t even consider myself as psychic, I just wanted to explore the idea and also learn about the different abilities. I found over time the more I learnt the more I came to realise that I may be psychic. I mean I had seen spirit before when I was a little child, I just couldn’t remember it much only remembered when I was about 10 years old, and seeing my first memorable spirit. So for all those people who are out there and don’t know where to turn, look no further. I am here to help in any way I can, I don’t claim to know everything but I will try my best to give you advice or answers to your situations or questions.

Dealing with too much:

When starting off with psychic insight including mediumship or just discovering you have psychic insight. Some may have problems dealing with the information received and may even be getting too much from their psychic insight. How to deal with the information is by no means easy, but necessary to continue with your psychic insight. Especially if you want to use it professionally. Having too much psychic insight can weigh you down, make you feel depressed, make you have a lack of energy and can even cause people to distant from others and certain places. This all is because they can’t deal with the information or it is just too much to process. How one learns to deal with their psychic insight take practice and determination. One way to do this is to learn how to close your self off. Also let me make it clear you can’t block out everything all together as some things may be important, but you can manage your psychic insight better when you learn how to close off. At the start it will be hard, but it is possible. There is no time limit everyone will be different on the time it will take them to learn to do this affectively. Some people can deal with it some can’t, it depends on you. We all need to take some space from psychic insight at some stage or have boundaries.

Exercise 1

Closing off:

Closing off can be possible but like I said above it takes practice and determination to get the full effect. You can do this exercise at any time of the day, but it is best to do it before you go out for the day. Especially when you first start doing this exercise, as you want to focus and concentrate on the exercise and not getting disturbed.

  1. Find a nice quiet place in the house.
  2. Sit or lay whatever is most comfortable and is easier to focus and concentrate on the exercise.
  3. You should ground yourself before you do this when starting off as well because you will not have done grounding before and you don’t want to use your own energy and then have a lack of energy for the day. (Refer down the page for grounding exercise.)
  4. Close your eyes and imagine the energy coming from your feet from deep within the ground. (Just like grounding, you can also visualise the colour of what you perceive the Earths core energy as.)
  5. With that energy make it come right up to the top of your head.
  6. Focus on making a shield of energy.
  7. You don’t have to cover all of yourself at the start, but can if you feel more comfortable. I would suggest to start at your stomach.
  8. As soon as you are visualising this you can grow the shield of energy out to cover your whole body.
  9. Then start making it wider and extending it out but not too far. No more than half a metre. (You will find the most comfortable size for you and the most affective as everyone is different.)
  10. If needed you can make more layers to your shield to strengthen your shield. (No more than 5 layers.)

Once you have closed off do not focus on something like why? And start looking for answers that could be answered from your psychic insight. As this will open you up again and you’ll have to start all over again with the exercise. Also when you are too focussed on something with your psychic insight and you don’t want to be or it’s inappropriate to do so, to help you could try focussing on something to distract yourself. Like with something you enjoy or will take your mind of it as you’ll probably forget, this is usually only helps short-term depending.

Processing Psychic Insight:

When you have gotten some information through your psychic insight you don’t need to analyse it too much. You may spend a few minutes like 1 -3 minutes looking at it. But then move on as you’ll get caught up on it and won’t be able to let it go, the longer you go without letting it go the harder it will be when you decide you want to let it go. Good thing to get in the habit of doing is keeping a journal with all your psychic insight and date it and you could even time it if it’s repetitive to see if it’s at the same time of day/night. The reason for dating it is that it may not be important now but when you come back to that particular date, it may make sense or have come true. Also to help make it a rule to yourself to try to not read anyone without their permission, don’t worry if it accidentally happens just keep it to your self and let it go. Also don’t doubt your self when you get information through you psychic insight, yes you may be wrong but the point is trusting yourself even if you’re wrong. As the future is not set in stone and we can change it by doing something else that will alter the future, however at times you will receive information from you psychic insight, which will happen when they do something that will alter their future and you will be right. When you doubt your self you can block further psychic insight information to come through or will get wrong or mixed information. So just stick with trusting what you get through your psychic insight and remember you can’t be 100% right all the time.

Grounding Exercise:

  1. Look deep within to the Earths core. What colour is it? No colour is wrong it’s what you perceive it to be.
  2. Next grow roots from your feet that go deep within the ground.
  3. Imagine the Earths core energy go up the roots and through your body, if there seems to be a blockage push through with the energy.
  4. Let it continue to flow for 5-10 minutes.
  5. If you feel there are any energies that need to be removed while doing this, imagine them being pushed down to your feet and out your feet into the Earths core where they can be recycled.

How do you ground yourself? 

This is one of the ways I ground myself, and probably one of the quickest and easiest way I know. Depending on how ungrounded you are, you may want to extend the time to 15-20 minutes. I wouldn’t probably do it any longer, but that just my opinion. I find this is and easy amount of time to achieve. You should ground at least once a day, and you will get better and better with practice. You may even find you don’t need to ground as long, to become grounded.

Why should we ground and what can we benefit from grounding ourselves?

Grounding ourselves is important especially when working with psychic abilities. It helps us stay focussed and centred through out the day. If we are focussed and centred it is easier to work with our psychic abilities, as we can focus better. Just having your bare feet on the ground, will leave you feeling good, and in a better state of mind. It can help you relax and unwind from a day, and release all the negative energy and stress from the day.

When we are ungrounded you can feel:

  • Light headed
  • Almost a floaty feeling (of yourself)
  • Lack of energy
  • Trouble focussing
  • Forgetting things
  • Unbalanced
  • Lower back pain

When you are grounded you will feel:

  • Good memory
  • Focus
  • Steady energy through the day
  • Purpose
  • Clear head
  • Feeling comfortable in your own skin

Psychic Shielding

Psychic Shielding is made of energy.

What is psychic shielding and how do you use psychic shielding?

Psychic shielding is another form of protection, it is similar to psychic protection. However psychic shielding, can be used for shielding yourself from spirit. You could use psychic shielding, when spirit is around, and it’s not an appropriate time to communicate.  Psychic shielding doesn’t block spirit out all together, and doesn’t get rid of them. It more so makes them step back away from you so they aren’t too close (dampens the connection).

I use this at times when I am in bed, and am not feeling up to having spirit so close to me, and disturbing my sleep. You can also ask them to step back. There are times in our life when they are desperate to communicate, and it’s not an appropriate time. This is when psychic shielding comes into play, also later I will get to the topic of boundaries, and how to set boundaries with spirit and your psychic abilities. This is how I use psychic shielding, but I’m sure there other uses for psychic shielding.

Using Psychic Shielding:

Psychic shielding is what it is, it’s a shield. Psychic shielding is made up of energy.

  1.  Imagine a barrier of some kind. (To make it easier you can use the white light.)
  2. Imagine this barrier in front of you.
  3. You can move it, extend it where it suits you.
  4. You may want to shield a door, window or yourself, so spirit can’t come through.

To shift spirit out of a room, you can start from the far corner. While extending it through the room (making sure to cover the room with the shield and not leaving any spaces), and imagining spirit is moving with it. Then when you have reached the doorway, you can leave your shield up there. You should ask spirit to move out of the room or step back, and give you space first. I just find it’s the polite thing to do.
